Decadent Truffle Cheese Toastie
This is far and away our favourite way to enjoy the decadent flavour and aroma of truffle. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
- Ripe Victorian Truffle (approx 10gm)
- Parmesan or Raclette Cheese
- Gruyere Cheese
- Cheddar Cheese
- Mayonnaise
- Salt (we recommend Mount Zero Pink Lake Salt)
- Fresh Bread (sough dough is great)
Method
1. Heat fry pan to medium heat (or you can use a sandwich press)
2. Slice truffle finely - enough to cover a slice of bread
3. Mix cheese together
4. Spread one slice with Mayonnaise and place Mayonnaise side down in the pan
5. Sprinkle cheese mix on the bread
6. Place sliced truffle on top of the cheese and then a little more cheese on top of the truffle
7. Add top slice and weigh down and cook for approx 5minutes until golden on the bottom.
8. Spread Mayo on top and flip over cooking for a further 5minutes or so.
9. Remove from the pan and top with salt and microplane the remaining truffle on top and savour this incredibly decadent experience!
